Travelers Tree

In the land of Cheloniodiea despite the different nations they all share the same custom while traveling out of their homeland or to a foreign place. When traveling they will carry either a ribbon with the color of their capitol, a symbol of their capitol, or something dear to them. Then when they arrive in an unfamiliar area they will tie it to the nearest tree as a landmarker. Thus starting the name Travelors Tree. Different Travelors will tie ribbons, bands, rings, anything of personal value to the tree outside of the new area they are arriving at. They do this for many reasons. Some do it so the inhabitents knows their will be guests and will prepare themselves to welcome them. A celebration that they made it and rewarding their long journey by putting themselves up along with other's that they have finally arrived. Or if they were ever to go missing far from home their is evidence of them having made it to their destination point. If their ribbon/material was not on the tree, it would be assumed they had gotten lost on the way. People of the known travelors can send word to the village they'd be arriving at and ask if their ribbon/personal possession was hung on the tree. If it was not, they can backtrack from the last nearest village and see if it was hung their instead. Some may carry many ribbons or trickets to hang on each tree outisde the village they arrive at, or travelors sometimes goes back to Travelors tree to remove their ribbon and journey to the next village, if they do so, it is a known rule they must do this in the morning for many witness to see, incase they get in trouble journeying to the next village. This gurantees someone has seen them and awknowledges their last known whereabouts.
