Name-hiding

Many a bird or boy will never know their true names, it is better to hide them, for the child's saftey.
A fact of life in Cuerero that the Khafkii population seem to never be equal with their Currean countrymen. It is no clearer a fact when it is seen as taboo to carry a name of your own culture. Sometimes children will be born with only a Currean name, sometimes with both (the Khafkii name serving a 'private name').   It is still a common practice within Khafkii families to hide away their cultures and names from their children and grandchildren, though with a surge in public figures of Khafkii origin (Playwright Adelphia Ittel and Actress Norwaa Liimekeer as key examples), it is slowly dying out.
