Currean Court Presentation

Never cared much for such pomp and ceremony, although this one I can say I'm indifferent upon, since I met {my wife} through it

In most Chasurian societies, the court debut is the difference between being a 'girl' and a 'lady', at least for noblewomen. Most nations have such ceremonies with their own cultural quirks and differences. However, one of the most well-known version of this is the Currean form of it, coming from the nation of Cuerero.

Qualification

A girl, at least with some pedigree, will be presented anywhere between the ages of 13 and 17, although it varies. Nowadays, thanks to moral opposition, in particular by the lower gentry and the mercantile class, there's been much a decrease in those presented below the age of 15.

Purpose

The purpose of this 'rite of passage' is and was to find a girl of noble birth a husband, and thereby find a family allies. The presentation is merely to present these girls and if a family takes interest, a following few weeks of courtship, and hopefully marriage if their are no unfortunate circumstances that lead otherwise.

History

Ever since the start of the Larramendian dynasty and subsquently the founding of Curero, the court presnetation has been a staple of courtly events. Orignally, these were informal, small and intimate affairs, where only a hanful of girls would be presented at a time. However, as years the years went by, and the kingdom expanded, the pomp and nature of court began to both grow and change into a precurser to the modern era's performance-like presentation.

Excution

At the start of year, girls roughly of the age to be presented, once approved by a convoluted set of qualification no one understands, don the tunic known as the Elvetido and are presented towards the king or monarch of the time. Depending on the ruler, these can be solemn and frank affairs or complex and pompous displays.
