A Ilo Scroll Document in Chasuria | World Anvil

A Ilo Scroll

Large rolls of parchment, taken care of to the highest degree. An Ilo scroll is many things; a dedication to both a spouse and to Eriyu himself and the proof of a union.
The Ilo Scroll is one of the main compontents of the Nuptial Rite within Daituranism and Cuerero as a whole.

History

The Ilo scroll has been apart of weddings since at least 300 DEV as that is the earliest references to them. The eldest preserved scroll is from the mid 400 DEV.

The Three Poems

Upon the scroll, there will commonly be five peices of writing. These are:
  • The Full Names of Bride and Groom (including Church Names)
  • A decleration of consent to the union
  • The Three Poems
Only two of the three poems are traditionally written as if they were poems, the one that isn't a poem is a decleration from the clergymember who officated the wedding, binding the union in the faith. This is written in eclessicatical Shitonen. The other two poems are written by bride and groom, prasing their partner and whishing themselves a good future. These are written in the most fluent language.

Preservation

Once completed by bride and groom, they are kept by clergy and are stored until they are needed. During a funeral, it is common for it to be laid with the deceased, though it is never burried with them.
