Zorvin is a tiefling cleric of
Gorthag on
Udarich. As a servent of the
Church of Gorthag, he travels church territory to conscript fighters for
Archbishop Darvus.
Personality
Zorvin's many victories in the arena at the
Earth Father's Cathedral have made him arrogant and prideful. He feels there are few who can defeat him in battle beyond Father Darvus. No one reaches his level in the arena without amassing enemies, so he has become a suspiscious and untrusting person towards anyone outside of his personal circle.
History
Born in 3179, Zorvin's parents were member of the Church of Gorthag for life. He showed a great propensity for battle even at a young age. By the time he entered the arena officially, Zorvin had become one of the greatest fighters to serve the church. He quickly took the title of Arena Champion and gained an undefeated streak that would last over a decade. Zorvin earned a number of blessing from Father Darvus as rewards for glorifying Gorthag with his fighting skills.
During his entire reign, Zorvin only came close to loosing once, against
Punch, his arena rival. The battle had been close and came down to a matter of luck in the end. Punch had thrown up a dust cloud with the sand in the arena, but she miscalculated and the dust cleared around Zorvin first, giving him a chance to land a finishing blow.
The Time of the Big HELP
Following the Church's retreat from
King Hespiro at the Stalwart Bridge, Zorvin was sent by the Archbishop to recruit new fighters from the churchlands. Among those he recruited were a team of adventurers called
The Big HELP. A friendly rivalry ignited almost immediately between Zorvin and the HELP's sorceror,
Hest. Zorvin took his recruits back to Cathedra and presented them to the Archbishop, then went to train for that evening Arena Tourney. In the tourney, he fought both Hest and
Bigwig, the latter of which nearly ended his undefeated streak. That streak was destined to end that night, regardless. In a close battle, Zorvin was defeated by Punch. Despondent, he chose to hide away after the Archbishop's closing speech.
