Marinia

Marinia is a triton wizard and traveling performer, naturally skilled at illusion and enchantment magic. This aptitude, along with her mischievous streak, were inherited from her fairy father. She meanders across the world in a carefree spirit, giving the impression of naivety to those she meets. Marinia does nothing to dispell these notions. They only make it easier for Marinia to prank and steal. Her wanton mischief has resulted in a slightly corrupted moral code. Though she would never intentionally cause serious harm, she doesn't tend to worry about who her pranks may harm.
Due to the trauma of nearly having her heart harvested by a powerful wizard, her innate magic became warped and Marinia's spells now tend to bring about Wild Magic. The Wild Magic has taken its toll on her body and Marinia believes it will kill her someday. Marinia is blind in her left eye due to it.

History

Youth

Marinia was born to a triton woman and grew up in the Undersea Quarter of Imbris in Estaria. She was kidnapped from her home at a young age by a dark wizard. He sought to cut out her heart and use it in a blood ritual. When he brought the knife to her chest, she released a torrent of magic that disintegrated the wizard. The torrent of magic was so forceful, it forever corrupted Marinia's spellcasting ability. Uncontrollable magic welled up inside her which could only be released via Wild Magic.
Marinia travelled the world after her escape. She loved to find travelling circuses or performing troupes and use her enchantment magic on the travellers. She would usually make them think she was the sister or daughter of the troupe leader until she got bored and moved on.
