Kanids

Kanids are bipedal, diverse natives of Pillar Valley, the gateway between the main island and the Bloodscribe Peninsula.
The Kanid settlements deep in the Valley of the Pillars are fairly insular, but the general community is peaceful and only fights in self defense, due to a high proportion of good boys (and girls). Although the cultural center of the Kanids is located in the Valley of the Pillars, you can find the majority of Kanids in every free settlement within Doriaa and Free Trogdia.
Many Kanids work in the Digi-Vid industry, but are often typecast as the best friend.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Kanids can have the features of pretty much any furry mammal, but most often look like dogs, cats, foxes, wolves, rabbits, and more, and they have a wider range of heights than any other group in Izan.

Growth Rate & Stages

Kanids develop relatively slowly, taking about 20 years to reach adulthood, but are considered young adults until they reach about 90.

Behaviour

Partying is alive in Pillar Valley-- Kanids love a festival, and will never miss a chance to celebrate an obscure holiday if it means storytelling, song, and a feast.

Kanids often have a very strong connection to the luma within the earth, environment, the sun, and other living beings, and as such they are incredibly skilled at offensive and defensive chromancy focused martial arts.
Kanids often have especially high charm, so you see many Kanid assassins and storytellers as well as charlatans.

Naming Traditions

Kanids who live within Pillar Valley often have geologically or inspired names, but outside of the valley they often have common Doriaan human names.

Major Organizations

One of the biggest Kanid operations is Rally Motors in Southern Doriaa, where Kanids are a slight majority of the population. Rally Motors is the first manufacturer of Verticars and sponsors a thriving racing culture with many harrowing cross country tracks dotting the countryside. Beck Rally, their founder, is still an active cross country racer, both in Verticar and Verticycle races.

Average Technological Level

Kanids are as accepting of technology as most of Doriaa thanks to longstanding alliances with Humans and Free Trogites.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

When Kanids help someone out of kindness or altruism, it is common practice to compensate them with a funny or interesting story from your life.
