Symphony of Souls Spell in Changing Stars | World Anvil

Symphony of Souls

Symphony of Souls Level 6 Enchantment Casting Time: 1 minute
  Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S, M (a spectral harp woven from moonlight)
Duration: Up to 1 minute (concentration)
Description: With a whisper that carries the weight of eternity, you strum the spectral harp, its strings resonating with the very essence of life and death. A vibrant symphony of ethereal music washes over the area, weaving its magic into the fabric of reality. Choose one of the following effects:
Harmony of Courage: The music imbues your allies with unwavering resolve. Each creature of your choice within range, including yourself, gains a +2 bonus to AC and advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed for the duration of the spell. Additionally, any attack rolls they make deal an additional 1d4 force damage until the end of your next turn.
Discord of the Fallen: The music twists and contorts, whispering doubt and discord into the minds of your enemies. Each creature of your choice within range that can hear the music must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a creature is under the effects of a confusion spell for the duration of the spell. On a successful save, a creature is only charmed for 1 minute, feeling a growing unease and distrust towards its allies.
Requiem of the Departed: The music becomes a mournful ode to the fallen, resonating with the spirits of those who have passed. Choose one deceased creature within 1 mile of you that you are familiar with. The spirit of that creature is drawn to the music and manifests within the area for 1 minute, appearing as a spectral echo of its former self. You can communicate telepathically with the spirit and ask it questions about its past, the circumstances of its death, or any other knowledge it may possess. The spirit answers truthfully to the best of its ability before fading back into the realm beyond.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the bonus to AC and saving throws, the additional damage, and the duration of the confusion and charm effects increase by 1 for each slot level above 6th. Additionally, the Requiem of the Departed effect allows you to choose up to two deceased creatures instead of one for each slot level above 6th.
