Mindshard Barrage is a psychic spell that unleashes a volley of razor-sharp mental energy, targeting the minds of enemies with devastating precision. This spell is not merely an assault of psychic force; it is a calculated and strategic barrage of mental shards, each one imbued with the intent and cunning of the caster, designed to pierce through mental defenses and wreak havoc within the minds of its targets.


The casting of the spell sees the crystal shard and the caster’s hair intertwine and levitate, pulsating with an intense psychic energy. As the caster directs their focus, the crystal explodes into numerous shimmering fragments, each a conduit for the caster's mental power, honed and targeted at their foes.


Psychic Onslaught: The spell sends out a barrage of mental shards, each capable of seeking out a target within range. The caster can target multiple enemies, directing the shards to assail their minds with unrelenting force.


Mechanic: The caster chooses up to three targets within range. Each target must make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, a target takes 4d8 psychic damage as their mind is bombarded by the relentless assault of mental shards. On a successful save, the target takes half damage. The psychic onslaught can overwhelm mental faculties, leaving the targets disoriented and vulnerable to further mental attacks.


Resonating Trauma: The impact of the mindshard barrage lingers in the minds of those affected. For the next minute, affected targets have disadvantage on concentration checks, as the echoes of the psychic attack continue to resonate within their minds, causing distraction and mental strain.


At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the number of shards increases, allowing the caster to target one additional creature for each slot level above 3rd.
