Infernal Symphony of the Damned Spell in Changing Stars | World Anvil

Infernal Symphony of the Damned

Infernal Symphony of the Damned
7th-level enchantment
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S, M (a vial of tears shed in despair)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
With this spell, you conduct an otherworldly orchestra, summoning the wailing chorus of tormented souls. The cacophony targets the minds of creatures within a 30-foot radius centered on a point you choose within range. Each creature in the area must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, a creature becomes overwhelmed by despair and is subjected to the following effects:
Melody of Madness: Affected creatures hear constant, dissonant whispers in their minds, imposing disadvantage on Wisdom and Intelligence checks and saving throws.
Harmony of Agony: The spell inflicts psychic pain. At the start of each of the affected creature's turns, it takes 1d6 psychic damage.
Crescendo of Chaos: When a creature affected by this spell takes damage from any source, it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or use its reaction to make a melee attack against a randomly determined creature within its reach.
A creature can attempt a Charisma saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effects on itself with a successful save.
As a part of maintaining concentration on this spell, at the beginning of each of your turns while the spell is active, you must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or suffer 1d6 psychic damage yourself, as the infernal symphony threatens to overwhelm even its conductor.
Should the caster lose concentration, the spell ends, but the haunting melody lingers. Affected creatures have disadvantage on attack rolls and saving throws until the end of their next turn as the echoes of the damned reverberate in their minds.
  Classes: Sorcerer, Warlock, Bard
