Ethereal Leviathan's Call Spell in Changing Stars | World Anvil

Ethereal Leviathan's Call

Ethereal Leviathan's Call
9th-level conjuration
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: 300 feet
Components: V, S, M (an ancient relic from the ethereal plane and a scale from a sea dragon)
Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes
Ethereal Leviathan's Call summons a colossal, spectral entity from the ethereal plane, a being of immense power and ancient wisdom.
Summoning the Leviathan: Upon casting this spell, a massive ethereal leviathan emerges in an unoccupied space within range that you can see. The leviathan is an incorporeal entity, existing partially on the material plane and partially on the ethereal plane. It occupies a space of 30 feet by 30 feet.
Leviathan's Command: On each of your turns after you cast this spell, you can use a bonus action to command the leviathan. It can perform actions such as Attack, Dash, Disengage, or use one of its special abilities.
Ethereal Grasp: The leviathan can use its action to reach through the ethereal plane and grasp creatures or objects on the material plane. Each creature of your choice that the leviathan targets within 120 feet of it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 6d10 force damage and be restrained by the leviathan. A restrained creature can use its action to make a Strength or Dexterity check (its choice) against your spell save DC, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Phasing Roar: As an action, the leviathan can unleash a powerful roar. Each creature within 120 feet and not on the ethereal plane must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a creature becomes frightened and partially phased into the ethereal plane for 1 minute. While phased, the creature can see and be affected by both planes but cannot affect either.
Ethereal Guardian: While the leviathan is present, you gain resistance to all damage, and you can see into the Ethereal Plane up to the range of the spell.
When the spell ends, the leviathan fades back into the ethereal plane, leaving no physical trace of its presence.
