Eclipse Shadow is a spell that summons the enigmatic essence of a solar eclipse, enveloping the targeted area in an umbral shroud of supernatural darkness. This spell transcends mere shadowcasting; it is an embodiment of the celestial phenomenon, weaving the moon's stealth and the sun's authority into a captivating play of light and darkness.

Upon casting, the caster's hands darken, and their shadow lengthens unnaturally, as if drawing strength from an unseen lunar force. They then gesture towards the chosen area, and a wave of darkness cascades from their fingertips, spreading rapidly to form a dome of deep, impenetrable shadow.

Area of Effect: The spell creates a 20-foot-radius sphere of darkness that normal light cannot illuminate. Within this sphere, creatures with normal or dark vision find themselves engulfed in a darkness so absolute that it seems to swallow sight itself. The darkness mimics the totality of an eclipse, leaving the area in a state of eerie, twilight-like visibility where forms and shapes become indistinct and spectral.

Mechanic: Creatures within the sphere have disadvantage on Perception checks relying on sight and are considered blinded when trying to see anything more than 5 feet away. This effect is potent enough to disrupt spells or abilities that require sight. Additionally, the sphere's edge blurs the boundary between light and darkness, making it difficult to discern from the outside.

Umbral Empowerment: While within the sphere, the caster gains an enhanced connection to the shadowy realm. They can use a bonus action to teleport between any two points within the sphere, appearing and disappearing like a phantom borne of the eclipse's mystique.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the radius of the darkness increases by 10 feet for each slot level above 3rd.

  Classes: Warlock, Wizard, Sorcerer

Eclipse Shadow is more than just a spell; it's a testament to the caster's mastery over the deeper, more esoteric aspects of light and darkness. It's a spell that not only obscures and disorients but also symbolizes the duality of light and shadow, reflecting the cosmic dance of celestial bodies. This spell offers both a tactical advantage in obscuring vision and a thematic embodiment of the mysterious powers of eclipses.
