Aurora of the Cosmic Forge Spell in Changing Stars | World Anvil

Aurora of the Cosmic Forge

Aurora of the Cosmic Forge
9th-level enchantment
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S, M (a fragment of a meteorite and a vial of ink made from starlight)
Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes
Aurora of the Cosmic Forge weaves the mysterious energies of the cosmos into an aurora that influences the bonds of alliance and enmity.
Auroral Emergence: Upon casting, an ethereal, shimmering aurora appears in a 60-foot radius centered on a point you choose within range. The aurora's colors shift and swirl, casting otherworldly light across the area.
Fate's Reweaving: Each creature in the area when you cast the spell, and those that enter thereafter, must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, their allegiances are temporarily altered as directed by you – enemies can become allies, and allies can turn into enemies. This effect lasts for the duration or until the creature leaves the area.
Cosmic Insight: While maintaining concentration on this spell, you gain insight into the true nature of affected creatures. You can use an action to learn the surface thoughts of any creature in the area, as the 'detect thoughts' spell.
Starlight Confusion: Creatures affected by the allegiance shift experience confusion due to their altered state. While under this effect, they have disadvantage on attack rolls against their usual allies.
Celestial Resonance: If the aurora's influence leads to a significant change in a creature's actions (such as aiding an enemy or harming an ally), that creature gains a Cosmic Resonance token. As an action, you can expend a token from a creature you can see within range to either heal them for 4d10 hit points or force them to make another Wisdom saving throw, potentially ending the effect on them.
Subclasses: Enchantment Wizard, Fey Wanderer Ranger
Optional/Variant Classes: Bard, Sorcerer
