Aetherbind Ecliptic is a potent abjuration spell that harnesses the forces of the celestial aether, creating a protective sphere around the caster that binds and rebuffs hostile magic. Upon casting, the caster becomes the center of a 60-foot radius sphere of aetherial energy.
Within this sphere, the caster gains control over the flow of magical energies. Enemy spellcasters must make a Wisdom saving throw when they attempt to cast a spell that targets anyone inside the sphere or includes the sphere in its area. On a failed save, the spell is countered, its energy absorbed and converted into aetherial motes.
The caster can use these aetherial motes as a reaction to either bolster their defenses, granting a +2 bonus to AC and saving throws until the start of their next turn, or to empower their own spells, reducing the casting time of their next spell of 1st level or higher to a bonus action.
Additionally, once during the spell’s duration, the caster can unleash an “Aetherial Nova.” This powerful burst radiates from the caster, dispelling all spells of 5th level or lower in the sphere and dealing 2d12 force damage to enemy creatures within the sphere. The nova also temporarily disrupts the ability of enemy spellcasters within the area to access the flow of magic outside themselves, preventing them from casting spells of 3rd level or higher for 1 round.
  Classes: Wizard, Sorcerer
Subclasses: Abjuration Wizard, Celestial Warlock
