Glamour

Glamour is an energy source that emanates from the Dreaming Dimension. Changelings use Glamour to fuel their powers, heal their wounds, and hold the entropic powers of Banality at bay. Glamour does not have mass or register as a conventional form of energy on the Prime Reality Plane, but it can nevertheless be measured. The “enlightened scientists” of the United Earth Federation have designated the term “Oneiron ” as the basic measurable unit of Glamour energy. Additionally, The human body of a Changeling is bound by an interesting cosmological constraint—it cannot store more than ten units or Onerons of Glamour energy at a time. Just like how overeating can cause sickness, if a changeling attempts to store more than 10 Onerons at a time, the excess energy will bleed off into the Dreaming dimension and addle the mind of the gluttonous Changeling in the process.

Using Glamour

A Changeling may channel one Oneiron of Glamour per turn (every six seconds) safely. Powers that require more than one Oneiron of Glamour to activate take multiple turnss to cast unless the Changeling attempts to fast-cast the Power in a single round. To fast cast a spell, the player must roll Wits + Awareness and score at least as many successes as the amount of Glamour they are trying to channel. For example, Invoking the Wyrd costs 3 point of Glamour to cast, so a Changeling wishing to fast-cast that spell in one round would need to roll 3 or more successes on their Wits + Awareness roll. If the roll fails, the spell still succeeds, but the caster takes one point of Chimerical damage per missing success. A Changeling may spend their Glamour to preform the following tasks.

Chimerical Healing

A Changeling may spend points of Glamour to heal Chimerical damage to their own body on a one for one basis. There is no daily limit to the number of Chimerical health levels a Changeling may self-heal but this power cannot be used to heal other Characters. A player may declare that they are spending Glamour to heal themselves at any time, even if it is not their turn in the initiative order for that round.   Cost: 1 Glamour per health level healed.

Bodily Healing

A Changeling may also spend points of Glamour to speed up the natural healing process for their physical bodies. A Changeling may heal one level of real damage (Bashing, Lethal, Aggravated) per day by spending a point of Glamour and getting a good night sleep (6 or more hours of continuous sleep). The healing occurs over night so it cannot be used to heal real damage in the middle of of an action scene.   Cost: 1 Glamour per health level healed.

Fueling a Cantrip

The most common use for Glamour is to fuel Changeling magical powers; called Cantrips. There is no upper limit to the number of Cantrips a Changeling may cast in a day so long as they are able to afford the Glamour cost for each Cantrip they cast. A Changeling may only cast one Cantrip per round (every 6 seconds) even if they have enough reserve Glamour to cast multiple spells.   Cost: Variable depending on the Cantrip's Glamour activation cost.

Arrest the Aging Process

A Changeling may spend an amount of Glamour equal to their Banality rating to suspend aging in their human body for the day. Using this power, a Changeling could prolong their human lifespan indefinitely so long as they had a steady supply of Glamour. To use this power, the Changeling must spend a number of uninterrupted rounds equal to their Banality rating to channel one point of Glamour per round. This power cannot be fast cast.   Cost: Variable depending on the character's permanent Banality rating.

Recharging Glamour

Changelings may replenish their glamour pools by using one of the following methods: Rejuvenating Sleep, Musing, Reverie, Rhapsody, and Ravaging. Regardless of the method used, a Changeling cannot store more than 10 Glamour points in their body at a time.
