Personal history
During his life, before he was crowned the emperor of Eldercrest, he was a foolish prince, but he had his friends. It was when he was a little boy his old father started to make arrangements with the elves. The Elven population was declining since they had no trees to legally make a bond with the trees in order to travel. And some elves took the risk and died. But they had the argument back and forth what trees that were going to be a protege.
The argumentation took years, not only because of the argument but also all the interruptions, the parties and the lack of enough time. And for some reason, they took a long pause in the discussion. It took for Agliv's father almost 30 years to make the best arrangement. And he went home tot he halls of their fathers in the underworld precisely when they were about to make the final decision.
The Protege of trees of Family was signed by Agulf to honor his father's last wish. And as a token of that arrangement, Agulf made sure a number of selected young elven women were sent to Saltham, in order to begin training to Valkyries.
