Hektar Bergen

Hektar Bergen (†) was a Captain of Lyford's City Guard, and a capable Magus.
He was investigating the Cult of Shan'ach, a secret society that abducted children for demonic rituals. Bergen worked together with his colleague Bartholomew Hollowbone on this case.
Bergen lost all the members of his response team in the fight with the cultists. They came too late to help the abducted children. All of the evidence on the crime scene mysteriously disappeared before the forensics team arrived.
After the incident, Bergen was left psychologically scarred from the demonic ritual he witnessed, the loss of his team, and the public ridicule he was subjected to. He became severely paranoid and was convinced that members of the cult were watching his every step.
Hektar Bergen hired the party to search for Cassius Albirio and his teacher Conred who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
Bergen was killed during your investigation in the sewers of Lyford by Philia, a traitorous lieutenant of the City Guard who worked for the Cult of Shan'ach.
Before his death, he sent a letter to his old colleague Hollowbone, asking him to travel to Tavona and investigate a secret society that bears the mark of a fish.

The paranoid Captain of the City Guard hired the PCs to find Cassius Albirio, the missing son of Lord Titus Albirio. Bergen died in the sewers of Lyford.
