Cerean Creation Myth

Before strongs and weaklings roamed the land, there was nothing but a rock in the void. The black rainbow of the cosmos saw this rock and fell upon it with a single ray of Light. Where the Light landed, spring of water, fresh and full of sweet life, erupted forth. The water was the first Son born of the Light; He was soft yet harsh, able to save and destroy. He controlled the waters of the world and made them sweet or salt, deep or shallow. His healing waters settled into every crevice and ravine and gave way for His sibling.   Next, the Light created bountiful soil with lush plants and pastures to nourish the barren rock. Life was the second Son born of the Light. He was responsible for all that was green and alive, reaching across and spanning the craggy surface from one of His brother's waters to the next. Whenever He moved, the waters parted or engulfed and created a landscape and inhabitants balanced between them. The second Son was patient and would take time to craft each living thing.   The third Son was made into daylight. His light was fleeting but powerful. He would boil the waters and burn the land for the first while of His life before clouds formed and the eldest brother rained back to the land and water to provide relief from the powerful rays. When the third Son disappeared over the horizon, the fourth Son took over and swathed the rock in softer, colder light. His light was gentle and soothed the waters and the lands. The two Sons were bickersome, so the Light ruled they would never see each other in the heavens. One would rule the bright, strong lights and the other would be a balm for the world after His brother's reign. With continued light upon the rock, the Sons were never far from their mother Light.   The fifth Son was the wind and helped the two eldest spread even further. The air carried seeds and moisture from one land to the next ensuring they would find no constraints. He provided relief from hot days and cool nights. It is said that He was the most carefree of the family. He had no cares for arguments or squabbles and often went unheard. Yet when He felt the need to exert power, His winds became tornadoes and hurricanes.   Lastly, the Light birthed the sixth Son - fire. His duty was to ensure each of the others stayed true to themselves. He would burn the land, evaporate the waters, hide the sunlight and moonlight and choke the air should His siblings deviate from their roles. Of all the Sons, He was the most just and the most temperamental.   Eons passed and each of the Sons continued their duties. Life was plentiful and began to think on its own. And thus, Cereans began their history.

Summary

This is the origin myth for Cerea; involves the Mother Light and her six Sons. Each Son is responsible for a different aspect of the world's physical properties and later messianic figures which are referred to a blessed ones or, later in history, Kumars.

Historical Basis

Modern science has proven that many factors in the universe (collapsing stars, meteors, et cetera) are responsible for the actual formation of inhabitable worlds, but even in contemporary times the mythos of seven godly creators as background puppeteers is tightly clung to. Science is able to explain the mechanics of how things happen, but not perhaps the why they happen.

Spread

This origin is widely accepted by nearly all Cereans save for a few pockets which could be considered atheists.

Variations & Mutation

Originally, the mythos centered around the Mother and her legacy, but over time She was mostly ignored and instead her six Sons were placed at the forefront of daily life.
