Blessed Proclamations
With the risks of being the first female Blessed One, Kitriana decided to create new laws which could not be changed.
Purpose
Seeing many injustices in both the capital and the world, Kitriana decided to create groundbreaking new laws; most of them were never contested by the general public but did face some resistance from Lords and Acolytes.
Document Structure
Clauses
Among smaller details, the major parts of the initial decree were thus:
- No sacrifices may be made for any reason, to any of the Seven, or to the Blessed One, or to any mortal
- Tributes may not impose a hardship on those providing it
- The gold normally used to immortalize Blessed Ones will be reintroduced into circulation in the form of investment in arts, labor, and other trades
- The shrine adjacent to the Stronghold may not refuse any individual based on status, freedom, or tribute (or lack thereof)
- Any individual, regardless of rank or gender, can seek an audience with the Holy Guard, Acolytes, or the Kumari herself
- Weaklings may not be used as a tradeable good
- No individual, no matter rank or gender, may be forced into unpaid labor or held against his or her will unless found guilty of a crime, or serving in a pledged role within society
- No individual may be prosecuted for his or her religious belief
- All Stronglords and Lords must provide protection and lawful rule to any who reside on his or her land
- No grievance may be settled by duel unless both parties have tried to settle before a Stronglord, Lord, or higher authority
Legal status
The stone tablets reside at The Stronghold but paper versions are posted in every market and government building across the world.
