Funeral

Elves on the continent Efren have different procures depending on death. There are several places on the continent that hold the cave systems that the elves had dug out for their ancestors. Death by natural causes, old age, accident, murdered etc - buried with ancestors in a mass underground cave system, in wooden boxes. First the body is washed, then covered in a wax/sap mixture. They are then dressed in their finest clothing they owned. Women have a simple necklace placed around their right wrist. If married a ring is left on their left middle finger. No ring not married. Their placed on their back facing up with hands overlapping at the waist. Right over left. Men have an elaborated necklace representing their family placed around their right wrist. If married they have a circlet on the crown of their head. Arms bent at the elbows and folded across the stomach. Not married hands are bound at the wrist and cross in front of the body at the waist. Illness any age- body is burned then the ashes are magically gathered, condense into a stone. The first letter of the dead’s name inscribed onto the stone. The stone is then placed with their ancestors embedded into wall with the other that had passed the same way. War- The body is washed placed back into their armor. Their wounds and scars left as a testament to their strength and what they had done. Their preferred weapons placed at their sides. They body and weapons are then placed into a metal box. They are buried or placed in a separate cave systems for warriors.   Those who have committed crimes and are punished by death. They are striped of any clothing and jewelry. They are left unwashed and placed into a hole dung in the ground. May already hold other bodies of other such criminals.
