Ewert and Claudine

Ewert, the marked and Claudine sly are the most famous pirates. Children and many adults tell their tale all over the world. They are most famous in Owhua and Efren. The legend says that this pirate couple had a fleet of ships that sailed all the seas gathering treasure, priceless artifacts from each continents. They also annoyed and caused much disruption to the Shade organization. Ewert and Claudine were said to stop Shade shipments between the continents for at least 200 years by stealing their cargos. They did not just steal from the Shade though they also stole from all the other ships regardless of their origins. It is said that Ewert and Claudine were from the small islands in between Owhua, Nucrana, Efren and Lafliuton which are where most pirates and the lawless shifters and elves come from. Many say that Ewert mark was captured as a child and forced into slavery, as he had an Efren slave mark. Then as a young man Ewert saved Claudine from the same fate, she returned and freed him. Once free they found a ship and started their reign as the greatest pirates. Their famous for just attacking cargo ships, not passenger ships. They were also very famous for stopping many slave trading ships. Innocents were kept safe during the attacks, only soldiers and crew were killed or injured. How they got their information is still unknown to this day. They were never captured but in the last battles they were in Claudine was severely injured. The next sighting was said to be just Ewert and his fleet against several other ships that were said to be Shade ships. Legend says that it was the same ships from Claudine’s last battle and that Ewert was coming to take them out for killing his lover. The outcome of this battle is mixed. People with in Shade say that Shade killed and destroyed all the ships leaving no trace of the pirate fleet. While the other side is that the Shade ships were all destroyed except for one and Ewret returned to his home base to live out the rest of his days in peace. The fleet was disbanded and allowed to go as they liked after said battle. Owhauens say that a mysterious island only known as Marked sly, off the southwest coast that is hidden most of the year. It can only be seen twice a year and the surrounding waters are very dangerous even the most advanced ships can’t even navigate to the island. Owhauens claim it is Ewert and Claudine’s home base where their treasures have been kept. But each ship that has tried to reach the island in the last three thousand years has been lost. No one is even sure if there is anyone alive on the island. Efrenens however claim that the distant Slymark island to the north of Efren is their home base. Slymark is another very difficult island to land on. There have been a few explores that have landed but found nothing, but lingering magic and odd happenings on the island.
