They most certainly are fun to write about, so I am happy to hear that you think so too :D
But yeah meeting one IRL would likely be an "unpleasant" experience...but that probably goes for most things in Cenorad ^_^

This is a fun article. 'Bold words for someone within my general vicinity.' - Best line.
I like the thin line that they straddle between really useful and absolutely terrifying. It's not surprising that they get the funding for their experiments, to be honest. I don't think I'd want to say no to them.
The seven disciples sound interesting, too! :D
Well even if you would say no to them, they likely wouldn't be able to hear you over the sound of the explosive they just set off ^_^
As for the Seven Disciples, they certainly are a crazy bunch...well but with the name of their mentor literally reading "Madnes(s)" in reverse, this is to be expected :D

This article is awesome! XD I started laughing at the first quote, kept laughing through the whole thing, and am struggling to calm down in order to type!
That was so fun! Neat twists on alchemists :)
There was one thing I did not quite get:
While many Alchemists are former absolvents -or dropouts- of the Imperial Academy's "Guild Course" program that wanted to deepen their understanding of Alchemy, such an education background is by no means a prerequisite for becoming a proper Guild Alchemist.
and
While Guild Alchemists are the -mad- brains behind the alchemical industry of the Vitreous Empire, their chaotic nature makes them rather unsuited for the boring task of actually maintaining their numerous inventions.
Because of this, this job is instead performed by members of the Empire's "Educated" scholar nobility that passed the Academy's "Guild Course" and didn't went on to become Alchemists themselves.
So: "many Alchemists are dropouts of the Academy" and those that did do the course are only the ones that did not become Alchemists?
I'm not sure if it's meant to showcase how unstable they are, but currently, the education makes very little sense :S
Hey MGatta, great to hear you enjoyed reading the article :D
To answer your question, the shortest explanation is to think of "being an Alchemist" as a mental condition or "heightened" state of mind.
Some individuals develop this "condition" only after their graduation from the Academy while already working as a regular Course-er, while others already go "mad" during their studies and then drop out of the Academy to directly go to one of the Alchemist Guilds.
So the regular Course-ers are the individuals that passed the Guild Course and that either didn't or rather haven't yet gone insane enough to become proper Alchemists.
I hope that cleared things up a bit ^_^

These sound like they will be a fun profession to play with, writing wise. I would not want to meet one in real life though!
