Personal history
The Destroyer was once the partner of The Creator, with control over the dismantling or removal of whatever the Creator did wrong. They worked in harmony, until they created Celdaro and The Creator ignored his suggestions and advice. The Destroyer was enraged and struck out at his brother, severing his left arm with his ability to erase things in existence. Holding the detached arm of his brother and peer, The Destroyer tried to use its power to create something according to his will.

If he was to erase or even injure The Creator further, it would break an essential law of the universe that neither The Destroyer or The Creator could stop or change. It would bring about annihilation on a cosmic scale and The Destroyer desires to have control over what exists. In order to attain his goals, he must find another way around The Creator that does not involve directly killing him.
