A common way to contract this is through contact with corrupted creatures. Certain plants native to lands tainted by Oflycus contain this infection. Contraction through this method would be the bursting of a sac of one of these plants, then the inhalation of the gas within.

Symptoms

First all areas of contact will swell and rash. External symptoms would disappear within an hour, however internal symptoms will fester. The second stage is the hindering of the senses, such as smell, sight and taste within four hours of contraction. Finally within a day of contraction the vocal cords will swell as to prevent speech.

Treatment

Through magical means the disease can be delayed or cured. Mundane ways of curing this disease are difficult, including burning out the infection with acid that hopefully won't cause lasting damage to the patient.

Prognosis

After a full day many senses are hindered and speech is impossible. After a full three days without treatment the airway constricts and the individual suffocates.

Prevention

Rare amulets blessed to prevent disease can prevent this infection.
