A common way to contract this is through the bite of a plaguling. Besides this followers of Oflycus often carry benign versions of these, activating when contracted by a neutral party. It can also pass from infected to other close by people.

Symptoms

The first few days of contracting the parasite it bides its time and multiplies. Within a few days once the parasite has multiplied it starts eating the flesh of the individual.

Treatment

Through magical means the parasite can be delayed or cured. Mundane ways of curing the parasite would be drinking an acidic substance for days on end, killing the parasites in the digestive tract.

Prognosis

Once the parasite has multiplied enough they eventually kill their host, bursting forth to try and find a new one.

Prevention

Rare amulets blessed to prevent disease can prevent this infection.
