A common way to contract this is through contact with creatures of Oflycus. Other than this the disease can be contracted by breathing in toxic gas from a plant tainted by Oflycus.

Symptoms

First the individual suffers fainting spells, periodically falling unconscious. As the disease progresses the person loses the ability to hear and see. After a couple days the fainting spells lengthen, until the target ceases to wake.

Treatment

Through magical means the disease can be delayed or cured. Mundane methods include concentrated incense that delays the effects of the disease.

Prognosis

When the disease reaches its final stage the individual falls into a coma, and unless the body is tended to they will eventually die of starvation.

Prevention

Rare amulets blessed to prevent disease can prevent this infection, as well as anything that can prevent possession.
