Tamuzid
Tamuzid is the god of shepherds and the consort of Ishtar. Often associated with agriculture and farming, as well as animal husbandry. He is a manifest representation of the Spring when the land is fertile and abundant.
Many villages and towns hold a funeral for Tamuzid every summer solstice, for the belief is that when the land is dry and barren, Tamuzid has died, only to be reborn again each Spring.
The death of Tamuzid inspires a plethora of stories, folktales, songs, and cautionary fables across all walks of life.
