Staff of Measures - staff

This staff appears to be made of sandstone and shod with obsidian, yet it is as light as yew wood. In the hands of a capable warrior, it can be a fearsome weapon, but its true purpose is as a symbol of authority and rulership.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

This staff functions as a Staff of Fate.
Additionally, the staff can be used to accurately measure any linear space from one foot to 10 feet. The staff doesn't change size, but is an absolute metric for rod based measurements.
The bearer of the staff is afforded the patience to bear the weight of politics, and will always be inclined to listen to all sides of an issue before speaking or making decisions, a "gift" that can unfortunately enable endless debates and circular politics.

History

Created by the cult of Marduuk to act as a divine symbol of rulership for the Elder Council of Saad'Ruedruk during the first century of independence, this staff is used for ceremonies, procedures, and is always present with the elder council during matters of state.

Significance

The magics that make the staff function are born of void and chaos, time and space.
