Runeskald Wand - wand

An exquisite wand carved from tempered rosewood with thick rings of camphorwood embedded in the handle. Each ring variously depicts gold-foiled dwarven wizards in armor wielding great magic to slay dragons, destroy or trap various elementals and aberrations, and slay humanoid wizards. The protruding end consists of a 2" wide clear glass tube-ring betwixt an unadorned 1" iron ring and a plain, cylindrical 1" iron cap, both plated with a blueish-silver coating of powdered zinc. The wand is 49/64ths of an inch thick, 11 1/64" long, and straight as an arrow. Peering into the glass reveals a roiling fog of gaseous vapor, with occasional rippling flashes of blue light like miniaturized thunder rolling through clouds.   The core of the wand consists of a long, thin, hollow bone cut and carved from the incus of a blue dragon, extending through the handle and tapering wider to meet the iron ring. Immured inside the entire length is a cloudy vaporized admixture of aboleth mucous amalgamated with quicksilver, sooty flecks of fire elemental ashes ground with iron filings, sulfur, and crushed ceramic, with a powdered silver suspension. A single drop of its creator's blood catalyzes the arcane power sealed inside the wand. The wand is surprisingly light, though balance is substantially forward of the midpoint. It is attracted to iron and steel but does not quite stick to objects made of them.

Mechanics & Inner Workings
