Imperial Blood Shield - shield

This shield was given to Captians of the Blood in Imperial times, so that their station and reknown could be glorified while also serving to aid them in their job of protecting the Imperial bloodlines.
This particular shield was given to someone of high status, for its Painted Bronze surface is inlaid with 20 sapphires that surround an intricately carved eye.
Unfortunately this shield was made with typical necromantic magics practiced by the Empire, and thus requires at least a drop of humanoid blood smeared over the eye each day to function.
