Duchess Karinna Savoy

The Duchess is a shrewd political manipulator, who backs her natural charisma and ability with arcane magic.  Few have ever entreated with her and felt they walked away with the upper hand.  Though she appears somewhat young, she has been ruling the Duchy since she was a young girl, and some rumors circulate that in her younger desperation she reached out to outside forces in order to help her maintain control of her province.

While officially the Duchess of Cavel is a wizard, many believe she was granted her arcane gifts from an otherworldly source. In fact, magical dominance and oppression from the Empire led many rebels and freedom fighters to seek alternative sources of power in their desperation, a tradition that has not abated with the Duchy's tacit approval of such practices.
