Bronze was the dominant metal for most of the last two empires and even today bronze can be found in many heirlooms and stockpiles. Only with the discovery of steel has this changed. Powerful bronze nations and rulers often had access to Painted Bronze, making the advantage of steel rather inconsequential in the fields of battle and industry. Iron for steel is easier to source however, and the logistics of sourcing bronze and painted bronze are one reason the most recent uprising had any momentum.
An ancient secret once forgotten has allowed bronze to remerge as the dominant battlefield metal.

Painted Bronze

Painted Bronze is the term used to describe bronze that has been tempered in Adamantia Spirit. This gives bronze an incredible hardness without sacrificing its suppleness.
Painted bronze is stronger and more flexible than steel, which is superior to both regular bronze and iron, yet requires more sources of metal and knowledge to create. It does have an advantage of being able to mass produce high quality cast weapons and armor in a suitably advanced facility.
