Lamia

Hunters of the Meek

Lamia are smart hunters, they know when they can win in a fight, and when they should back off. A Lamia after their prey is more relentless than any goblin hoard or dragon after treasure. Once a Lamai has their prey, they will wrap them up in a constant spiral of defeat and weakness. By the end of the day, all of your money will be gone, and the Lamia will be counting their newfound wealth. Lamia are merchantmen of course. Selling poisons tinctures, and exotic fabrics and weaves. Sometimes a gem will be found when digging out lamia residencies and is immediately put on the market. To a Lamia, if it isn't bolted down or out of sight, then it can be sold. Lamia prices are often exorbitant, but the price is well worth the quality of the product. Lamia will sometimes send out females and attractive males to find travelers and rope them into buying gifts from their shops and stores.   Lamais weren't always shrewd merchantmen, once upon a time they were savage magical beasts that found a lonely place in the mesa, and slowly evolved into the modern prisoners of today. Sometimes a Lamia more akin to a magical beast is born with paled scales and vicious eyes. Legends have it that if you manage to tame a white Lamia, then an ancient treasure will be revealed to you.

Crafters of Poisons

Lamia poisons are some of the most sought-after poisons in the world, second only to ones recovered from ancient ruins and magical anomalies. A single vial of it is said to be able to kill a Goliath within an hour. Lamias aren't only experts in poisons, they can make all forms of medicines and perfumes. Lamia medicine is potent enough to cure most magical and non-magical afflictions, and the perfume could seduce an entire monastery of monks with one breadth. Lamai poisons often vary in color depending on the person that made it, with much of the potency coming from the crafter itself rather than the ingredients used. A master of the craft could turn a normal dandelion into a poison deadly enough to stun a construct. The color of a Lamia's scales can sometimes be used to predict how strong their poisons will be, but eventually, it will be outweighed by their pure skill and method. Lamia scales range from vibrant reds to cool blues and forest greens. Be warned though, if you aren't careful when telling the difference between lamia poisons you might end up with something akin to saltwater instead.   Lamias don't only sell poisons however. Many also sell jewelry and fabrics as well. Lamia fabric is often sought for its smooth silk feel and the durability of the fabric being stronger than northern spider silk. Lamia clothing is often very light and normally doesn't cover more than what is required for basic decency. However, on special occasions, the females will wear dresses that flow down to the ground and the men will wear fancy robes or suits.   Lamia civilization is more akin to an open floor market rather than a town. The Lamias are ruled over by the royal family, the senate council, and the poison masters. Daring to mess with any single faction of the government will invoke wrath uncanny to ever befall any involved. The royal family lives inside a palace carved out of an ancient spring, and flourishes with beautiful gardens and fountains. The senate amphitheater is built deep inside the canyon in order to protect them from natural disasters. the poison masters can just be found selling goods at their shops in the middle of town.

"The Lamia women? What about them?... Well, they are some of the most gorgeous woemn I have ever seen, but Just as scary when they get made or into a other type of mood.... Anyhow, if you are looking to go after their heart, go after their wallet first. They aren't lookin for some sugar daddy, they want a good buisness partner. Make sure to swoon her off her tail, and NEVER, I said NEVER call a Lamia lady heavy. You will suck it up and carry her like a princess if you must.
