A creature of CR 4 or lower that you can see within range makes a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save the creature begins to turn to dust and immediately dies any nonmagical items on the creature turns to dust as well. Undead and creatures that are immortal are unaffected by this spell. A creature killed by destroy life cannot be resurrected by anything less than a wish spell.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level the CR increases by 1, and by 2 if you cast it with a spell slot of 9th level.
