Personal history
Ember Ripley signed to her label and released her first single "Bar None" and album of the same name to international success. Though it did not hit top of the music charts in America, Ember brought new life to her label's Pop/Punk branch "Electric Void" and became their star client. Not bad for a dead bitch!
Ember Scott was also a musician, but not nearly as intense a personality as her ghostly counter part. Ember Scott played any dive bar or club she could, night after night to support her younger sister and mother after her father passed.
One night, as Ember was finished up a set, she was approached by a man who swore he could make her a star using a cybernetic enhancement in the brain. All Ember had to do in exchange is sign to him, and give him what he wanted. The morning after, Ember found herself in the basement of a high end bar, strapped up to a machine she didn't understand. Then, she felt herself be violently ripped in two, as the machine extracted all personality and sense of self from her body and uploaded her soul to the man's private server.
Soulless, Ember's body was left to perform and obey every order the man gave. During the night she preformed at his bar, during the day she was his personal sex doll. Without any soul or sense of self, Ember lost track of the days, and Ember Scott became a missing person.
The days continued like this, until one day between songs, a miraculous event occurred. Ember heard just the right snippet of just the right strangers' conversation, two likely unrelated syllables happened to string together into a word that would help Ember find herself again, the name of her younger sister, "Cinder". Ember went into a frenzy, smashing equipment, furniture, and every bottle in the place. In her maelstrom, Ember started an electrical fire that burned the bar, and anyone unlucky enough to still be inside up, like a match. The only confirmed casualties for Ember were herself, and the bastard that put here there. And that was all she cared about. Until Ember realized that the universe doesn't know where to send a soul ripped in two.
Without a soul to pass on, and without a body to return to, Ember floated out of the rubble and ash and walked away from her past. She didn't know where to go, but she knew the only thing that mattered now was finding the only piece of herself that was left. The only piece of herself that could have survived the fire. Ember had to find her soul in cyberspace.

The only thing Ember cares about is getting back her soul, and sending money to her mother to support her family. Half of Ember's fortune is sent anonymously every mother so her mother does not have to work and can take care of her only living daughter.

Ember parties harder than anyone thought possible, mostly because she cannot actually consume drugs and alcohol as a ghost and just fakes it. People usually crash out trying to keep up and that's fine by her, she's used to being the last one standing in a venue.

Ember either speaks in single word sentences of paragraphs, there is no in between. She will end every written sentence with an emoji, including magazine and website interviews. Which is wild, because no one is quite sure how they get in the copy...
