Viu

Viu was constructed by the Cordziz along the north and south banks of the Zodinu River. The settlement grew rapidly and quickly became large in both size and population than Elo. Unlike the capital however Viu did not contain a large palace. Instead Kemuel the vassal-lord had built a large manor with resplendent columns. Each column is carved with reliefs that depict the formation of the settlement and later history of the angels. The final pillar has since been named the Napta Column and depicts the First War of Angels.   Most of the buildings in Viu were smaller than those erected in Elo to conserve space and allow for the larger number of angels. Those constructed during the early years, between 1348 and 1330 ADR were still lavishly furnished. As the settlements population grew to the boundaries set by the Counsel of the First the buildings were made smaller and constructed closer together.

History

The second settlement established by the Cordziz. Viu was built by the angels when Arbatur decreed that only the first three generations of Cordziz were allowed to live in Elo. Arbatur appointed a vassal-king named Kemuel as the leader of Viu. Kemuel and the later generations of angels set upon building a thriving settlement along the bank of the Zodinu River about 140 miles south of Elo. As the number of angels continued to grow at a rapid pace by the end of the fifth generation Viu had grown to surpass Elo in both size and population.   Even with Viu's rapid expansion it became clear to Kemuel that the population of angels were outstripping the resources available near this new settlement. As housing for each subsequent group of angels that arrived in Viu became depleted Kemuel beseeched Arbatur to allow the first residents of Viu from the forth generation to resettle in Elo. Abatur leading the Counsel of the First, a gathering of the first generation of angels residing in Elo, decided to ignore this request. Abatur sent a messenger to Kemuel that Elo also had a limit of resources and these were to be shared among the original three generations, which were named the Primary Angels. Upon receiving the dictates of Abatur then made a second request to allow for a new settlement to be built further south along the Zodinu River.   During the successive years following the building of Viu and Abatur's declarations the Council of the First established a hierarchy of the Cordziz which granted each generation following the first less authority and status. Based on this new hierarchy the second and third generations were allowed to form a second counsel they named the Cordziz Senate. The Cordziz Senate was able to create a secondary body of law that all following generations must follow but these regulations could not supersede declarations of the Council of the First. While this had the intended consequence of establishing order it also created a further division among the generations of angels.   When the request arrived to King Abatur to build a third settlement he met with the Counsel of the First. The council decided that the angels of the fourth and fifth generations should be forced to build smaller homes as a sign of their lower status and significance. It was declared that original buildings should either be rebuilt or configured to allow for a larger population but a new settlement would not be built. This decision would lead to an uprising among the later generations called the First War of the Angels starting in 1313 ADR.
