The second Battle of the Great Plains

Goibnu recovers from the loss of his arm inflicted by the formorion king Bres. Goibnu's body has fully healed but he is worried by the lack of his limb and his ability to fight for his people. A master smith Goibnu gathers metals to forge a new arm. During the next few weeks he builds a replacement arm of gold and bronze. The arm built by Goibnu allows him to again wield his spear, Tiene but his metal arm lacks the mobility of flesh.   As Goibnu focuses on forging his metal arm, Dagda begins studying this new land, learning about the animals and plants that grow and live in the Material Plane. Dagda gathers young members of Cagstone and begins training them to care for both the people and the land. These new shamanic druids he names the Lorg Anfaid also called the "Wrath of Nature", powerful mages that could both protect and unleash fury upon those who bring it harm.    The fomorions having been dealt a blow during the First Battle of the Great Plains retreat to the portals back into the Feywild. Bres, the king of the fomorions meet with the Unseelie court who torment Bres for his failures. Bres convinces the Unseelie to grant him a second chance and he rebuilds the forces of the fomorions. Bres gathers a large force of the twisted giants and leads them back through the portal onto the Great Plains. The fomorions struggle to locate the Cagstone gnomes since their are hidden by the magic of Dagda and his Lorg Anfaid. The fomorions in anger loose their fury upon the land, hunting and killing the large herds that live on the Great Plains and setting fire to the forests.    Brigid returns from her encounter with Airmed and locates Goibnu. Goibnu having trained for weeks with his metal arm is concerned that he is still little match for the fomorion king, Bres. Brigid explains that she can help restore Goibnu's lost limb, using her staff Leigheas she has the power to mend the flesh. Goibnu is delighted by the possibility of regaining his arm but does not want to lose the power and strength of the metal arm he has forged. Brigid goes to Dagda explaining their plight and asks for his wisdom, Dagda using his knowledge of the arcane offers a solution. Dagda uses his arcane arts to bind the flesh to the metal allowing Goibnu to retain the strength and power of his metal arm while regaining the mobility of the flesh.    Goibnu now heartened by his new, strengthened arm begins planning with Dagda and Brigid to defeat Bres and the fomorions. Goibnu a master of battle tactics devises a cunning trick to ambush the fomorions. In a short valley near their woodland home Goibnu has the forces divided and hidden among small gathering of trees. Dagda and the Lorg Anfaid create magical barriers hiding the gnomes from the sight of the fomorions. Goibnu presents himself before Bres challenging the king in battle before retreating to the valley. Bres angered by insults of Goibnu gathers the fomorions and charges into the valley to kill the gnomish warrior. Goibnu holds in the opposite end of the valley and when the fomorions reach the middle of the valley the gnomes unleash their attack. Firing off magical stones from their slings the fomorions are devastated, undeterred by his troops failure Bres press the attack until he is able to close upon Goibnu.   Goibnu and Bres battle each other as the fomorions perish to the attacks of the Cagstone gnomes. Although Goibnu is far smaller than the powerful Bres, Goibnu's cunning and mastery illusions allows him to parry the blows of Bres. As Bres pushes the attack his strength slowly begins to wane, exhausted Bres loses his momentum. Goibnu now begins to press the attack using the enhanced power of his metal arm. Bres manages to deflect the blows but is pushed back until he is overwhelmed with rage. Angered Bres attempts one grand sweeping blow with his greatsword hoping to fell Goibnu but the gnome is prepared and ready. As Bres sweeps the massive sword overhead Goibnu tosses his spear Tiene into the eye of Bres. The spear punctures both the eye and skill of Bres lodging in the giant's brain, a mortal blow that leaves the fomorion gasping upon the ground. With Bres killed and the fomorions routed the Cagstone gnomes return to their forest homes in celebration.
