Ekh

The Ekh, called "tortles" by outsiders are reptilian-looking humanoids with large shells on their backs that are capable of containing their entire bodies. They have leathery skins that vary between olive-green to blue-green hues. The dorsal portion of their shells is usually darker than their skins, while the ventral portion is lighter, usually with yellowish tones. The Ekh rarely wear any clothing, favoring instead belts and harnesses to carry their belongings. They have little tolerance for cold, and usually migrate away or seek thick rocky shelters from temperate areas when winter approaches.   The Ekh revere the great deity named Bathala, their supreme deity of the sacred waters and divination. The Ekh believe that Bathala graced them with the ability to see omens that they use to determine future events. They often paint their thick shells with symbols that represent individual tribes and acknowledge local bodies of water they consider sacred. Laon is the second most important deity of the Ekh, god of time and weather and the bringer of change.
