Achaman

The Tan deity of the land and water and he "that who is in the rain". The Tan believe that Achaman is not just the supreme deity of the life giving waters but is carried among the storms. During times of drought the Tan gather near the oldest singular tree upon their grassland home and pray, dance, and sing for hours begging for the "sight of Achaman". Unlike most deities connected to the rains and storm Achaman is revered as a healing deity of peace and tranquility.   Along side Chaxri the Sun Mother and great warrior goddess, Achaman divides his power between bringing the rains and holding back the seal that holds Guayota. When Guayota is close to escaping Achaman must remain for long periods using his power to restrain the great demon. This period causes the long droughts that are common among grasslands of the Tan. On rare occasions when droughts last significantly longer than a group of Tan warriors will be selected to travel to the (Great Mountain) where Guayota is imprisoned. The warriors enter the deep caves of the evil tibicena, minions of Guayota to help restore the prison and relieve Achaman of his duty. No warrior has returned from this quest but their courage is celebrated upon the rains return.
