Today after weapondrill at the Lemussa Yard, Master Evauess sought me, who had witted I wished to talk. We sat under the yard eaves while Sievae flirted with the warriors and Remaue worked my bruises, since drilltide had ended with the yardmates most beloved idleshow: me and Kaure fighting. They have bestowed my stout wifemate the nickname ~Damayara-Vellaze~ - Damaya-Hunter - since she has grown a knack for fighting Damaya (and dolefully me!) like none else, and also maybe from her bridetide’s yestermind, since Hauronil was her First Man.
I asked the yardmaster his thought on the Motorae Games’ foot-trial in a mere four months and that, reminding Vosaeth’s word, under gamelaw I will fight other Damaya. Even so much as this yeartide fighting in a Korasha weaponyard has strengthened me, I understand a starkness fighting Damaya’s longer reach and nimbler steps. He nodded, but then asked: ~Dei o’koe-yi melizone?~ - “Are they forsoothly so nimbler?” He read we merely seem so forwhy we outwardly dance, whereas Korasha nimbleness hides between their shorter, nearer game mistaken for rough strength. At his wisdom I bowed.
Master Evauess then bestowed his thought for next drilltide. He bade me spar with Semuane, Istae, and Sievae and brook what we have learned against fighting other Damaya. He also bade that every other drilltide I shall go to the open Battleyard to spar with Damaya at foot-trial, but not only to fight, but to watch the fight and so learn the best fighters. Also, he bade me spar only with other outriders. When I warned outriders are seldom the best foot-warriors and shun such mean drill, he yaysaid, and so read I shall find them easy to beat, which will spread my doughty nameworth without too much showing my weaponwise. Then last he bade me wield subtleness in weaponwise and fight them as a Damaya, and not brooking the new skill and strength I have learned.
~Athala Motoraea mi unira. O’uniri-mi inyaese,~ - “The Motorae Games begin now. Now you start to win.”
The yardmaster then said I already own a known nameworth among the city. They name me ~Shaverazere-Halaeaze~ - Thiefqueen-Slayer, harkening Byreath. Yet he asked whether I reck they also name me ~Riere-Halaeaze~ - Wifeslayer, which is a grimmer, threatfuller thing. Falteringly I naysaid, adding I had more than once undergone sheerness-cleanse against bloodfilth. He nodded, but then beread that when others see me, and dolefully upon the weaponyard, they see my nameworth, and which smites them with dread. ~Kolama shyalda vaolura. Ihaeli,~ - “The city has given you a weapon,” he said: “Use it.” Then he took leave.
After that word, Semuane, Istae, and I bethoughtfully went this eventide to the Roseclaw Hall (Semuane’s outriderhood and near the Battle Yards), where among the idleness we outspoke we shall in three days on the Ninth hold weapondrill, and welcomely bade the fellows cleave. How many we may draw we reckon not. Also, tomorrow we shall go to the Spearcradle and, though I think they will less likely answer, repeat the dare-welcome. Even if we get some, it will be a start.

Today’s drilltide went as ereplanned. We met a sixsome of outriders, all from the Roseclaw, although we had some watchers from the Spearcradle. Together we held a right kindly swordbill drill, and wherein I could take long shots almost at will, which yielded our wanted outcome, and I misdoubt our guests left with thought of our doughtiness. Yet under their byrnies’ weight, the newcomers swiftly wearied, whereat we called to withdraw to a wineyard and buy the first jug.
While the drilltide, and wherein Lanaryel, Aeosel, and Lenis became the maidens’ darlings, Sievae had chosen to gather. Then I bewared Meiss had cloven her, much behaving the faithful manlove under her mirth, and which yielded open witness to the fighters. Together they strolled the Battleyards in arm while Lenis gamboled about, and which doubtlessly gave them whole sight of who drilled. Meiss doubtlessly stands as Master Evauess’s scout in our little playcraft. When we left, Sievae beseeched Lenis to come with us, since she would spend the night with Meiss at the Lemussa Yard (even while Kaure likewise readied to steal to the Elf-Farthing and Hauronil). ~Iloshi o’soati-ahi vaenze, a doallare,~ - “Beware that you can walk tomorrow, yardmistress,” In answer, Sievae lewdly spat between her fingers and fled our laughter.
Laterward at the Purple Glowrose, we guested our fellow outriders, both Roseclaw fighters and Spearcradle watchers, to a wealthy mirthtide, with enough wine and meadbrandy to dull any mindreading and many honeybean dumplings. We heartily thanked their drill, whereat they asked whether we will fight the Motorae foot-trial. I yaysaid, and bade we should bode forth word and welcome outriders of all ladyhoods in six days to drill together for the upcoming Games, to all our betterness. The others well took my beseech and forespoke to bode it among all twelve outriderhoods and behold who will shamefully withhold. More cunningly, my doughtiness’s word will also bode forth on whisperful throats.

Semuane has gotten bid that she shall leave afetch in two days. They will again send her to Lost Hoshiasa, which warfare many warriors fear as accursed, but to me forelooks thrillsome. She jokingly asked whether I would again beseech leave to go as yesteryeard I had done. Ruefully I naysaid, since I am forebound to the Games’ readiness.Yet I would learn of Hoshiasa all I could toward the day I may indeed go.
At my wish, Semuane led me to the Citadel, where she undergreeted me to Lady Eiarame, her captain’s wandbearer, and told I am the outrider who had found the lost Aslanta who had come through Hoshiasa. Lady Eiarame has a map believed as the most fulsome outlay of Hoshiasa’s whole wreckstead, and even showing many underground floors. The wandbearer drew forth and outlaid many sheets, the first whereof showed the ground with marked wallwrecks, whereof fetchgangs have also cleaned much brush and bramble to ken the shapes. Of the underfloors and delves, whereof I had merely gotten Brand’s rough bespokenness, they shrove their knowledge still unwhole, and some burrows whereof proved too fall-plighty. Yet they know the Moqeva city’s whole shape to help the inquisitors outfind any evil weirdness than the worldgate.
We spent a good while overtalking all they had learned of Hoshiasa, and even what the inquisitors wondered on the Moqeva’s elder lives and lore, as shown by the wreckstead. At the end, I beseeched Lady Eiarame whether I could get the map’s copy. She answered she must ask the lady-captain. I begged her to do so, and added that, if it might help, I would speak to Her Highness Lady Sheneal as a high beseech, since Son rightfully needs this knowledge so much as Qabarat. We left with goodwill, and me forethinking a fetch from Son to outseech Hoshiasa from the north after our homecome.
