After today’s drilltide, I ducked into the weaponyard’s bath instead of waiting to come home, since I had taken a dolefully filthy tumble in the yard after a squall had wettened it (Soaras had body-slammed with a mightiness I must name bemeeksome), bestowing a grime on my back, legs, arms, and breast. I reckoned Remaue and Kaure waiting with the children, but found myself the last to leave the bath, or so I thought.
When I left still wrapping my bodyshroud, I bewared a reckful din from a benchnook. I halted and spotted two shapes among the shadow. I witted Meiss, and who was most likely not alone by the wise he writhed. Then I saw his swivemate, and knew her at once: Sievae lay on a bench while he crouched within her thighs. She held his heavy shoulders as he clutched her hips, drew his brow upon her bosom, and stretched antennae to meet his. Her moans matched his grunts, which had first bewared their wantonness.
Right when I stole from the room, she saw me.
Remaue and Kaure asked my flusterness, whomfrom no secret I could keep, but at least outwilled we should come well beyond the weaponyard ere I told. They giggled, and Remauae howled: ~Sievae kisse hithande!~ - “Wanton Sievae is back!” I chided their fun, since I feared Master Evauess might behold an uhappy mood at his yardlings so idly sporting. Yet my worry dimmed their mirth not, and I had to threaten to offlet the thing until I can get this mess dightened.
I waited for Sievae, who came home late. I heard her go into the bower she shared with Draue, Nae, and Hanos, and idly speak. I shifted downstairs to the midyard and sat a bench when soon she came holding Lenis her son’s hand. Then she saw me and slowed, whereat I smiled mildly. Sievae bade her son go onward to the kitchen and beseech tea and a candydish from the cook, and then to bring then back and share with his housemothers and father. She shoved him forth with a kiss, to which I added mine.
I recked no good wise to open the thing overhanging. ~Yei hanimi,~ - “So today,” I started, letting her choose answer.
Shame so hardly wilted Sievae's antennae that I feared tears. Swiftly I rose, took her hand, and led her to the bench. When we sat, I kissed her knuckles. ~Me miuthe,~ I swore: “We are childsisters.” Then I beseeched her to tell truth so I could best uphold her.
~Yue daemi,~ she shrove: “It is idle lust.” Yet her breath undertold her mood’s strength, and to us both, which even brightened her blush. ~Ovas zhehuas,~ she whispered: “He is a pretty toy.”
~O’dume-ve, ovas zhehuas ushoas,~ I answered: “To my eye, he is a pretty big toy,” which made her laugh and nod. Then she shrove it wholly gleeful to have taken a manlove for herself. Although she is lovers with Hanos, Nae as his wifemate owns first stead, and furthermore he thews Draue, which leaves little enough strength among three wives. She also likes Meiss being younger than she (who is younger than I). Then she named him tasty like a thurse’s inner waistmeat, and rightly roasted until the sap runs out when stuck!
I already knew she took womb-bane, and instead asked whether she had already spoken with Hanos, Nae, and Draue, which she yaysaid. Then I asked what her heart foreboded. She answered not. So I asked her thought on the weaponyard and Master Evauess’s earlier speech on too much lust and not enough drill. She shrove while her shame grew, that she rued Master Evauess’s offthank, and swore she had not merely cloven the weaponyard to besway a comely man. She begladdened of the weapondrill, but also in better warcraft to thew our flag. Yet before Meiss - her ~ovas zhehuas~ - her will had toppled.
I looked into her eyes, which begged ruth. My brow and antennae I laid with hers. ~Yothaef assamere,~ - “I will uphold my housemate,” I deemed. Sievae wept. I kissed tears from her cheeks, and then gave leave to seek her son.

Although today is weapondrill’s break, after Embassy I again headed to the Lemussa Weaponyard. I left Remaue and Kaure at the gate and sought Master Evauess, who beshrivedly looked forecaught at my sight. I witted I had erenever come so dandied up, as now I was with halterdishes gold and silver under a threadworked bodyshroud, openwork armbands, greaves, and even goldgum lightening my scar. The sight of him beholding me as an outrider shifted weightmight between us, which I rued. Both for that mood and my soon speech, I set Aeosel down and bade him run to the yardmaster, and who merrily grabbed the old man’s knee and so won a break in the yardmaster’s gruffness.
I let the dear breathtide stretch, until Master Evauess again looked up. ~Thandave o’laemya-ruaelassi,~ - “I have come to beg sorrow,” I began. Then I told I had brought strife into his yard. When he asked what, I answered: ~Ea Sievae mi Meiss.~
At their names, Master Evauess answered he had an inkling. ~Yei,~ he muttered: ~Stya haem?~ - “So, what are we to do?”
I told I had yesterday spoken with Sievae, who had shriven the whole deed. Thus I had forthwith came to him. I deemed their lust young and wild, and as such Sievae shrewdly knew not how it may grow. Yet by my rede, it reckoned strong. Even against, however, she still wished to keep drill, as did I. However, for his yard’s peace, I swore we would listen to his will.
Master Evauess grunted broodily, wherafter I let stillness. At last I spoke that Meiss showed as a forebodefully knacksome yardling, which was surely why he had cloven the weaponyard. Master Evauess nodded. He had welcomed the young man after watching him win a newling-gametrial at his firdhood’s end. ~O’ahi qoanyas areas,~ - “He could become a champion,” he said.
I awaited his doomword offlifting any threat to Meiss’s towardly livelihood. Yet the old yardmaster sighed. He spoke, to his best knowledge, Meiss had erenever taken a wifelove, and reckoned forshedding him from Sievae might merely make him blossom-sotten to someone else, and maybe worse. Then he spoke an old joke: ~Karaliaru o’liari esaelu,~ - “The harpy-jasmine sings sweetly.”
Then he asked what worry this love might bring for my flag, and whether Meiss stirs any jealousy or ill will. I answered Sievae and I are childsisters, that she and Hanos are lovers, and that Oshis is her fathermate, although now they are friendlier than lovely. Even so, they both are good men and faithful. In that thought, if things outfall badly between Sievae and Meiss, and the two deem the guilt Meiss’s, they would likely: ~shiemyayas eshodi shatora senzilora,~ - “stamp him until wineberry mush,” and furthermore Less would cleave under shieldbrotherhood. Master Evauess chuckled, and asked if such were likely under whim or good shrewdness, to which I yielded oath only for good.
I took leave and came back to the gate, and there found Remaue flirtily offshowing her dapper bodyshroud, skirt, and begemmed nipplecap to the yardfighters, and telling them an outrider beneeds a right doughty shieldbearer to keep head unlost and some wisdom followed. Wryly I halted arear, which got the fellows gaping, since like Master Evauess they had erenever seen me so highly clothed. Then I asked my wifemate whether she was quite fordone with today’s wickedness. ~Eshodi sere dorayelf shesorru,~ - “Until I shackle you to the wall,” she glibbed, which made the Korasha laugh, and me haughtily bid her from the yard and swat her rear.
