Armos' Path

Armos' Path is one of the two portals located on Carthya. Armos' path was named after Armos a tiefling that was found near the portals entrance.

Geography

Armos' path is located near the northern part of North Oochino. It's one of the most frigid places in Carthya. The area around the portal itself is flat. Leading up to the path is a lifeless hill that seems to take longer to walk up to than it does to walk down from.

Ecosystem

The area around the path is dead. There is no life of any kind. Plant life can't survive and the creatures that can survive in a climate like this tend to stay away from the portal.

Ecosystem Cycles

Armos's path is permanently frozen. Whenever it does percipitate it, it either comes down as hail or snow. Most of the year, it is dry. During 2 months of the year, there will be some sort of downpour.

Localized Phenomena

The portal connecting South Oochino and North Oochino emminate a strong force. They swirl with a red liquid and people that stay near it for long periods of time, are drawn to madness. Most who stay, stay far away and only for short periods of time to conduct business. Those who stay longer, either disappear or corpses are found somewhere nearby.

History

Armos was a Tiefling that was exiled into the desolate part of North Oochino. He a few years after his exilation, some explorers came across his dead body resting at the threshold of the portal. It was swirlling with blue and green liquids. When they moved his body away the, portal turned a red color and the explorers felt the feeling of dread immiting from the portal. The portal and the path that was created afterward was named after the dead Tiefling.

Tourism

Creatures are used to travel to Armos' Path. A magic user usually accompanies the party that travels to the portal. They use magic to keep themselves warm and to travel the last leg of the trip. Since creatures stay away from the portal, you can't travel all the way with them.
