Niland University

The University of Larnins at Niland stands among thousand-year-old ruins in the northernmost port on the Middle Sea. Before the rise of Baronet, the metropolis of Conerpère was the richest and busiest trading port in Carrisor, but it was destroyed by centuries of war, and lay in ruin until the town of Niland opened to the continent’s preeminent University, about three hundred years ago.
Students from all over the Known World come to Larnins to study every conceivable subject, from history and engineering to language and the fine arts. There is a secret wizard’s school, two informal magicians’ societies, a Sierin lightwerk daughtsmans college, a renowned ring of fencing assassins, and an underground coven of Dragon traders. And a thousand mysteries wait to be discovered in the ancient ruins of Conerpère.
Niland itself has no aspirations to the Throne, but many of the University students and professors are tangled in the web of continental politics. Before the end, the fate of the world may be decided in a quiet study hall at Larnins.
