The Exile
The principled young Jona CœurdeBœuf is an exile of the Burning Tower. His parents are devout and humble servants of the Flame, but he has never been a believer. In his career at Larnins he has studied many ancient religions, finding some truth in them all, but none enough to recommend one faith over another. This is Jona’s sixth year at University and he may stay here for life, although he also feels drawn to the Sea, fascinated by the history and culture of the dragon masters in Dorian and Sodor. He is obsessed with the legend of the Dragon’s Eye, a mysterious Durain fruit with a ruby at the pit, said to convey the power of dragonsight.
