Georg Bruneik

The Swindler   Philosopher-drunk Georg Bruneik is a wanderer from The Lion’s Keep, newly married to Catwyth Dogbottom. Once a linguistics professor at Larnins, Georg is a poor historian, a petty thief, and a collector of antique musical instruments for which he has no talent. His sojourn into Fladdock has led him to work in a printer’s shop in Meere, where he sets type for newspapers and the occasional scholarly textbook. Bruneik communicates with his confidants in other major cities (Niland, Beloya, Baronet, and LeBâton) using a contraption called a Farspeaker, a mysterious device crafted by the Fire Hand. These expensive gadgets are normally the purview of vast commercial enterprises, and are rarely privately owned. Georg stole this unit from the University, which explains his sudden departure from Larnins four years ago. He has come to Meere to have this device repaired, among other secret reasons.
