Fris

The black volcanic islands of Fris (“Frees”) stand stark against the icy waters of the Aspien sea. The southernmost Fris island, Ouacana (literally, “Volcano”) is still active at the southern tip. Fris is home to the Fire Hand, a Celtic-style clan of monk-engineers. They are shipbuilders and conjurers, who create unique and mysterious Frisian artifacts known throughout the world.
The Fire Hand don’t travel far, and they are fiercely defensive of their islands. No one from outside can visit the islands, but they do maintain a trading network in the continental ports of Fladdock, especially Meere. Most people in Carrisor speak of Fris as though it were a myth, and Meere its only real aspect. But on a clear day the smoke from Ouacana can be seen from the shores of Fladdock and Colluda.
