Belamus Frax Ulliin Hammerhand is a member of the Royal Society of Armorers, the “broken-spear” order of veteran soldiers. A Verulin from Meere, Hammerhand has fought in sixteen campaigns over thirty-five years, and as a smith he has forged more than five thousand suits of armor, including nearly four hundred for Durain warhorses. As LeBâton’s loyal Chief of Arms, Hammerhand now stands ready to join Lowan and Étienne LaForêt and make war on the North. However, Frax Hammerhand also has a dark secret, a preference for Fladdock wines over the offerings of his adopted homeland. Even as an outsider, this weakness will one day compromise him with his closest allies.
