Borland

Once a southern extension of Dilûni territory, Borland is literally “the land of bears.” It’s a Nordic-style fishing and mining culture, hemmed comfortably between the Goneva and Otegarde mountain ranges. “Borland” means both the name of the entire region, and also the name of the northwest portion, distinct from the principalities of Civer and Serise.
These three regions manage an unsteady truce, and bear many old grudges. Each region has a blend of several ruling families, and there is a good deal of overlap between the families of different regions. Cerise also claims dominion over a colony across the Siwassel, the gold-rich fjords of Kiris, which are separated from the rest of their western continent by a mountain range.
