Barenn

Far to the north, separated from the rest of the continent by the Goneva Mountains, the inhospitable and aptly-named “Barenn” is home to few residents. The west coast is inhabited by a seafaring race called the Wint (“Vint,” literally, the winter people) who still live as they have for centuries before the modern age. They call themselves the Dilûni, who call their land “Firiitu,” which simply means “home.”   The Wint have gone mostly unmolested by the colonial powers. The harsh weather and the Goneva mountain range prevent incursions for the most part, though in the last half-century there have been upward pressures on all populations, including from their neighbors to the south.
