Military: WarThe Ystwyl-Talgell War, also known as the War of the Hidden Enclaves, was a catastrophic conflict that occurred from 966HC to 972HC, instigated by the Illumian Cabals and their leader Gautrel Ryeasath to assume direct control over the nations of Ystwyl and Talgell. The war, which saw the first use of arcane magic in warfare since its ban after the Second Herivikan Expansion, marked the downfall of the nations of Ystwyl and Talgell due to the destructive influence of arcane warfare and numerous assassinations. During a surprising reunion with her old friend Three, Trixie reveals a disturbing trend: warforged are inexplicably regressing to a more primitive state. She recruits Three and his party to investigate this strange phenomenon. Their first stop is the birthplace Three and Trixie—a lab that's now overrun by Mimics and a Lodestone Marauder. Inside the lab, they discover the machine used for analyzing warforged behavioral patterns. They connect Three to this device, hoping for insights into the current warforged predicament. Unfortunately, without the necessary engineering expertise, they are unable to retrieve any conclusive data. This leaves them pondering that perhaps studying more of the warforged could offer some answers. Following this unresolved investigation, they set their sights on the depths of the Underdark. Their new mission: tracing the path of the invasive Lodestone Marauder.

The Underdark
Subsequently, they journey into the Underdark, following the Lodestone Marauder's trail. On the way, they encounter a small village by a vast chasm, greeted by a welcoming, scarred man in his 50s named Abe. He introduces them to Aeric, the village leader and veteran adventurer. Aeric informs them that the village is plagued every night by rampaging monsters. This all started six months ago. After a restful pause in the village and a daunting descent down a 1000 feet slope, they reach a large cave housing a sleeping dragon. Ottra and Tyrexis feel an overwhelming rage emanating from the dragon, which begins to affect them too. They manage to mentally connect with the dragon, plunging their consciousness into its dreams. As they battle the dragon within this dreamworld, their comrades fend off a horde of enemies drawn to the dragon's fury. When Ottra and Tyrexis defeat the dragon in its dreams, it dies in reality, prompting the enemy horde to disperse.

The Mystery Letter
The Chromatic Crusaders return to Mithrien and discover a mysterious letter for Ottra and Tyrexus from a certain Korthas. They investigate Korthas' room at a local inn, finding blood stains and a secret compartment holding a map, journal entries, and a note. The map leads them to a door carved into a mountain near Ogrim's Forge, behind which they encounter and overcome a group of poachers. After the fight, the party is confronted by a furious half-elf demanding his son's whereabouts. After being told by Three of his son's that his son is gone, the forest turns eerily grey and a formidable shadow dragon materializes behind the half-elf.
